36 weeks!

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe it’s week 36 already!  I totally missed Week 35 as it has been two crazy weeks!!  My brother came to visit from Toronto, my Mom celebrated her big bday bash early since my brother was in town and I’m not due just yet, and just a lot of other awesome get together with friends and out of town guests.  I even had a couple of belated bday dinners with some of my girlfriends too as I was so busy on my actual bday week.  I think I’m starting to get a taste of the life of a busy mom, although I’m sure I’ve hardly scratched the surface of that.  😉  lol.

Pregnancy Update:

How far along? 36 Weeks  (I’m actually 37 weeks now as I’ve been doing these updates a week in advance)  I’m officially full term!

Baby is the size of a:  Honeydew!

Total weight gain: 23 lbs

Baby is a:  Girl!

Stretch marks? I think I saw  two little faint lines underneath my belly.  Not surprised…I’m totally stretched to the max right now. lol.

Sleep:  Those crazy dreams have made a reappearance.  I’m also sleep talking a lot  (as my husband told me)

Best moment this week:  We finally went to our prenatal class that we booked months back.  It was definitely very informative and I have to say I really enjoyed the massage techniques my hubby learned to ease my somewhat achy back.  😉

Worst moment of the week:  I had to cancel my massage appointment because my doctor said that it’s probably best to take it easy since the baby is still breech.  I guess she doesn’t want me to risk going into early labour prior to my caesarian date.  I was so looking forward to that massage…oh well, gotta do whats best for the bay bay!!

Have you told family and friends:  Yes!

Miss Anything?  Being able to wake up in the morning and not feel like I have a ton of pain down on my girly parts…lets just say everything is starting to feel heavier and more uncomfortable.

Movement:  Yup!  I enjoy balancing  items on my belly and watching her kick it off.  She seems to know when I have something on top of her.  haha.

Food Cravings:  My blood work came back and apparently I’m on the cusp of being a little low in iron.  Hence, I’ve been loading up on spinach salad, eggs and cherries this week.  I even had a little bit of beet salad the other day with my brother as he said its good for me.  Ugh!  I hate beets!!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope.

Have you started to show yet?  Totally!  Random strangers ask me when I’m due.  =)

Belly Button in or out?  Still looks like a weirdly shaped cinnamon bun but I’m officially calling it an outie.

Wedding rings on or off?  On.  I keep forgetting to put it away for now.  I’m just glad my fingers haven’t swelled up yet.  I think wedding rings will officially be off next week though.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!!

Looking forward to:  Buying the last minute items (*cough* I’ve avoided the breast pump until now…) and getting a hospital bag ready to go in case my water breaks at any time!

Virgin Watermelon Mojito

unnamed

A couple days back my girlfriends and I went to a gorgeous rooftop lounge and enjoyed a delicious dinner.  The one thing that really stood out was the watermelon mojito (virgin ofcourse) that I tried.  It was so refreshing and just what I needed on a hot summer night.  It’s not surprising that I was craving another one the moment I got home.  Following this recipe I found on pinterest, I was able to recreate the same invigorating concoction that I had that night and now enjoy it in the comfort of my own home. 😉  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. =)

Ingredients:

Small Seedless Watermelon
1 liter Lemon Lime Soda
12 oz Concentrated Limeade
3-5 fresh Mint leaves

Directions:
Juice 1/2 watermelon (24 oz) in a juicer, remove rind before juicing.
Add limeade concentrate and soda.
Mix well until concentrate is dissolved.
Add mint leaves and let chill for at least 1 hr. (24 hours is even better)

I’ve currently been living in this dress as it is such a perfect fit for my pregnant body right now.  It’s surprisingly NOT a maternity dress.  I actually bought it from h & m a few years back and always wore it with a strappy leather belt.  I also wore it here on a previous post last year.  Hope you’re having a fabulous week so far!  xoxo

Pregnancy Update:

How far along? 34 Weeks

Baby is the size of a:  Butternut Squash!

Total weight gain: 20 lbs

Baby is a:  Girl!

Stretch marks? Nope…not yet.

Sleep:  It’s been pretty hot out lately so I’ve been sleeping with the fan on.

Best moment this week:  It was my birthday this week and I had an awesome time celebrating with my family and friends.  My hubby also took me out for a decadent dinner and even included a ‘little’ bit of shopping beforehand.  😉  It was just the kind of b-day I wanted this year….relaxing and laid back.  I also finished my two year post-baccalaureate program this week.  It was such a nice feeling to be done! =)

Worst moment of the week:  The place that I ordered the change table from told us that it was going to be another two weeks before it arrives!  It’s been frustrating that they can not keep their orders on time even when it’s already a mistake made on their part.

Have you told family and friends:  Yes!

Miss Anything?  Being able to lift and pick up heavy things.  I have so much to move around right now as I’m getting the nursery ready but feel like I can’t do it on my own.  I still do it (shhh!)  but sometimes I do feel like I need to take it easy.  My hubby gets a bit angry when he sees me lifting heavy things.  He often stops me and does it himself instead.  I’m not used to having others carry things for me…its just not me.  lol.

Movement:  Yup!  It’s so cool to see my belly transform into different shapes while I’m sitting and watching TV.  Sometimes, she’ll dig her head under my ribs though…that’s not that pleasant.  When that happens, I try to massage her back into the middle of my belly. lol.  Sounds funny doesn’t it?

Food Cravings: Milk, burgers, ice cream, blueberries, popsicles.  It’s been soooo hot this week, I think I had about 2-3 popsicles a day just to keep myself cool.  It’s been so hot!!  I’ve also had frozen yogurt and purdy’s ice cream bars pretty much every time I go to the mall.  It’s like a must have!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope.

Have you started to show yet?  For sure!

Belly Button in or out?  Still looks like a weirdly shaped cinnamon bun but I’m officially calling it an outie.

Wedding rings on or off?  On, but I think I’m going to stop wearing it soon.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!!

Looking forward to:  meeting up with good friends and trying out new restaurants that I’ve been wanting to visit.  Oh, and ofcourse getting the nursery all finished!
